About The Position
Arizona Autism Charter Schools (AZACS) is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our award-winning team. AZACS has been recognized for its innovation in education and providing transformational experiences through unique individualized learning programs for autism charter schools. The OT will work under the supervision of the Campus Director of Special Education and will be responsible for assessing and implementing students' occupational therapy needs, maintaining records, supervising COTA staff, and engaging in data-driven instruction using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies. This role supports the delivery of services in a classroom integration model and requires effective communication with students and families.
Requirements
- Experience delivering services in a school setting in a classroom integration model is preferred
- Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance
- Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Minimum of two years OT experience in a school setting preferred
- Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred
- Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Bachelor's, Master’s Degree or higher
- Certified OTR in the state of Arizona
- Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
- Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities
- Assessment and implementation of students' occupational therapy needs
- All record-keeping related to each student assigned to the therapist
- Supervision of COTA staff
- Engage in data-driven instruction
- Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies
- Assess students to identify eligibility and IEP needs
- Supervise, mentor, and support COTA; train COTAs and classroom staff to implement goals identified on student IEPs related to: fine motor skills, life skills/training, psychosocial adaptations, sensory processing/adaptations, visual motor skills
- Follow school-wide systems, rules, and positive behavior interventions
- Support the delivery of services in a classroom integration model
- Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families
- Responsible for paperwork compliance with data collections relating to IEP goals and Student Digital Portfolios
- Maintain timely and accurate Medicaid Billing
- Accountability for growth and proficiency in IEP goals
- Participate in annual and ongoing staff training
- Write OT goals and progress monitoring data for students' IEPs
- Attend IEP/MET meetings for students with OT services
