About The Position

SSH-West Allis is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. The Occupational Therapist provides compassionate treatment to patients during recovery. The role is PRN/per diem and pays $53 per hour. An extensive orientation program supports a smooth transition into the setting. Demonstrated skills and dedication may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) eligibility after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Certified BLS or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants (OTAs), as well as OT and COTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and in-services.
