About The Position

Reporting to the Manager of Day Hospital, Mental Health & Addictions, the incumbent will work with Day Hospital to provide Occupational Therapy services as part of a multidisciplinary treatment plan and consistent with the principles of recovery.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited University
• Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT)
• Registered member of the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia
• Experience in developing and providing group and individual psychoeducation
• Demonstrated skills in completing functional assessments
• Demonstrated ability to build client capacity to promote occupational performance
• Evidence of ability to work independently, with a multidisciplinary team as well as with both hospital and community based services/agencies.
• Demonstrated use of innovative problem solving and application of evidence based practice to patient services.

Nice To Haves

• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
