About The Position

Lifemark is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) passionate about assisting clients with their mental health and concussion management recovery process. The role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, individualized care that supports recovery and successful return to work and daily function. Opportunities exist to participate in other work streams such as FCEs, Community OT services, and Veterans Rehabilitation services. The Lifemark 64th Avenue clinic is a multidisciplinary rehabilitation center in Langley, British Columbia, offering a wheelchair-accessible facility with ample free parking, open spaces, large windows, an athletic-style gym, and access to outdoor space.

Requirements

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
  • Experienced as an Occupational Therapist with Mental Health and Concussion management training is an asset.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Newly Licensed Graduates are welcome to apply.
  • A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients by focusing on holistic recovery through skill-building, routine establishment, sensory strategies, and creating safe, trauma-informed environments to support participation in meaningful work, school, and social roles.
  • Apply clinical expertise and professional competence in the assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow-up of clients.
  • Perform the assessment and treatment of vestibular disorders, concussion management and return to function planning.
  • Teach techniques like mindfulness, relaxation, and sleep hygiene to manage pain, fatigue, and emotional distress.
  • Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete applications/funding letters to the Ministry of Health, insurance agencies and other funding parties.
  • Provide education to the client and employer about the recovery process, the benefits of staying connected to work, and their roles in the plan.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.
  • Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart.
  • Excel in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Exhibit sound professional judgment.
