About The Position

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a pediatric occupational therapist to provide one-on-one home-based therapy to infants, children, and adolescents in Northern Metro Nashville. The role serves children with needs that may include prematurity and NICU histories, developmental delays, neurological diagnoses, cardiac conditions, feeding and sensory challenges, genetic disorders, trauma, postoperative orthopedic conditions, and medically complex or technology-dependent needs. The therapist works under occasional guidance and collaborates with families and the health care and educational team to meet patient-care, outcome, and system-improvement objectives. The position is PRN and is anticipated to support a temporary staffing need beginning around May. Depending on patient volume and business needs, it may involve a consistent caseload of approximately three to four days per week, as well as backup and PTO coverage for other occupational therapists. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with no weekends or holidays and flexible scheduling. Clinicians typically make four to six visits per day. The therapist evaluates patients, develops individualized plans of care, and provides developmental, sensory, motor, vision, and functional interventions in the home. The role includes educating and coaching parents and caregivers, coordinating with other care professionals, and completing timely electronic documentation. Vanderbilt provides onboarding and clinical support, including orientation, EMR training, clinical orientation, preceptor support, field consultation, a GPS-enabled safety app, and joint visits or co-treatments when needed.
