The Occupational Therapist (OTR) is responsible for the service delivery process, including patient screenings, assessments, and evaluations. They implement occupational therapy treatment plans and regularly collaborate with other disciplines. The OTR is expected to independently review outcomes and modify intervention programs, utilizing clinical reasoning and professional judgment to ensure patient safety and protect liability. Direct supervision of support personnel, such as occupational therapy assistants and clerical staff, may be exercised when permitted by license restrictions. The role also involves maintaining a safe and orderly operating business, maintaining assigned equipment, and participating in educational, research, and quality improvement projects.
