About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Akron is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Occupational Therapist provides compassionate treatment to patients during their recovery. This is a full-time, weekday-only position in Akron, Ohio, with compensation of $34.00 to $52.00 per hour.

The Occupational Therapist participates in discharge planning, provides individual therapy, monitors patient responses to treatment, and supervises occupational therapy assistants and students. The role also includes participation in continuing education seminars and in-services.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants (OTAs), as well as OT and COTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and in-services.
