About The Position
Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital, operated jointly by Lifepoint Health and Ascension Saint Thomas, is hiring a PRN Occupational Therapist for inpatient rehabilitation in Nashville, Tennessee. The 40-bed hospital is seeking a therapist committed to providing exceptional patient care. The role involves assessing patients’ occupational skills and safety, planning and delivering therapy, tracking progress, educating patients and caregivers, supporting discharge planning, and guiding the use of adaptive equipment and support programs. The Occupational Therapist also supervises and delegates care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and practice standards. Inpatient rehabilitation experience is preferred.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Tennessee state licensure for Occupational Therapy.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills.
- Design an appropriate plan of care, including the type and frequency of treatment.
- Implement treatment plans using appropriate modalities.
- Document subjective and objective findings related to patient progress.
- Monitor and modify plans of care as needed, seeking consultation when appropriate.
- Educate patients and their families or caregivers about patient deficits.
- Plan or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and the treatment setting.
- Provide information about the appropriate selection and use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
- Supervise and delegate care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to licensing laws, state regulations, and practice standards.
