About The Position
Lifepoint Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist for inpatient rehabilitation. The role focuses on helping patients rebuild independence and safely manage daily activities through individualized, evidence-based care and collaboration with the care team. The therapist evaluates patients, develops and adjusts care plans, provides hands-on treatment, documents progress, educates patients and caregivers, supports discharge planning, and supervises and delegates to occupational therapy assistants and technicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- State licensure for Occupational Therapy.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Critical-thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ ability to safely perform daily tasks and create personalized care plans based on their goals and challenges.
- Provide hands-on treatment using therapeutic techniques and adaptive modalities to promote strength, coordination, and independence.
- Track and document patient progress using measurable outcomes and observational insights.
- Reassess and adjust treatment plans, consulting with colleagues as needed.
- Educate patients and caregivers about functional deficits and practical techniques for success at home and beyond.
- Support discharge planning by recommending adaptive equipment and connecting patients with community resources.
- Supervise and delegate to OT assistants and technicians, ensuring care meets professional and regulatory standards.
