About The Position

Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to provide inpatient rehabilitation care, with availability for weekdays and weekends as needed. The hospital is a 40-bed facility in Nashville, Tennessee, operated jointly by Lifepoint Health and Ascension Saint Thomas. The Occupational Therapist assesses patients’ ability to perform occupational skills safely and effectively, develops and implements individualized plans of care, monitors progress, and adjusts treatment as needed. The role also involves educating patients and caregivers, supporting discharge planning, advising on adaptive equipment and support programs, and supervising and delegating care to certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with applicable laws and practice standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Tennessee state licensure for Occupational Therapy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

• Experience in inpatient rehabilitation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills.
• Design an appropriate plan of care, including treatment type and frequency.
• Implement treatment plans using appropriate modalities.
• Document subjective and objective findings related to patient progress.
• Monitor and modify plans of care as needed and seek consultation when necessary.
• Educate patients and families or caregivers about patient deficits.
• Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and the treatment setting.
• Provide information about appropriate selection and use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervise and delegate care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with licensing laws, state regulations, and practice standards.
