About The Position
HealthPro Heritage is hiring an Occupational Therapist to support seniors in an active independent living retirement community in Independence, Missouri. The role focuses on helping residents stay active, healthy, and engaged through evaluation, individualized treatment, education, documentation, and advocacy. The position is offered on a per-diem basis with flexible hours and a wage range of $55–$60 per hour. Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility to obtain a license.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing effective treatment plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to lift and assist patients as needed, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks related to therapy.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate clients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities using observations and standardized tools.
- Develop personalized treatment plans to meet clients’ goals and enhance their functional abilities.
- Educate clients and families about improving daily activities, including the use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
- Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Advocate for clients’ needs and support access to community resources, services, and accommodations.
