Occupational Therapist PRN
About The Position
HCA Florida Westside Hospital is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. The therapist provides compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s goals and capabilities, working with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team to evaluate needs, develop individualized plans, and support recovery through each stage of healing. The role includes patient evaluation, hands-on treatment, progress monitoring, care-plan adjustments, timely documentation, and patient and family education. The therapist also collaborates with care partners to support safe environments and transitions of care, and may provide guidance to therapy assistants or students while upholding HCA Healthcare’s mission and values. HCA Florida Westside Hospital is a 250-bed medical center and healthcare complex founded in 1974. The hospital is a teaching and research facility and offers graduate medical education programs in podiatry, surgery, and internal medicine.
Requirements
- Occupational Therapist (OT) qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and needs and develop individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
- Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust plans as needed, and complete thorough, timely documentation.
- Educate patients and families to support understanding, confidence, and engagement during recovery and beyond.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to support seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and positive patient experiences.
- Provide guidance to therapy assistants or students and uphold HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.
