About The Position

The Occupational Therapist plans and conducts segments of treatment programs designed to restore and improve patients’ physical, social, and mental functions while meeting department objectives. The role serves as a co-leader in an interdisciplinary approach to patient groups.

The position is at Adventist Health White Memorial, a healthcare provider in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. The facility includes a 353-bed hospital, medical office buildings, residency programs, comprehensive cancer care, and other services.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD), required for those who obtained their license on or after January 2007, or foreign equivalent.
• Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of practice.
• CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of occupational therapy experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete evaluations to ensure quality standards and address assessment areas requiring attention.
• Use appropriate clinical techniques and tools and establish individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Provide therapy interventions using appropriate treatment protocols and techniques.
• Establish individualized care and discharge plans and ensure they are communicated to appropriate parties.
• Complete comprehensive and accurate clinical documentation within established deadlines.
• Supervise assigned assistants.
• Serve as a co-leader in an interdisciplinary approach to patient groups.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
