About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their Day Neuro Program in Frisco, TX. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team that utilizes an integrated approach for intensive physical rehabilitation. The program's focus is on helping patients with acquired brain injuries return to their highest level of independence and community reintegration. The OT will be responsible for evaluating patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and ensuring the design of functional programs for community reintegration. This role also involves educating patients, families, students, and colleagues, and performing other professional duties related to patient care and therapy services.

Requirements

Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as an Occupational Therapist required
Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required

Responsibilities

Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction.
Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients.
Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities.
Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self.
Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
Focuses on neuro re-education, basic and higher level ADLs, return to driving, return to work, functional cognition, and neurological vision.
Treats patients as part of a multidisciplinary team, six hours a day, Monday through Friday.
