Requirements

Current Occupational Therapy License in the State of California (Required)
Current CPR Certification (Required)
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy
Reliable commute or relocation plan to Porterville, CA
Excellent clinical, documentation, and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

Master’s or Doctorate preferred
Experience in geriatrics or post-acute care preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients within 24 hours or 1 business day of physician referral
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
Provide direct therapy services in accordance with care plans and regulatory guidelines
Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and therapy aides as needed
Educate patients, families, and nursing staff in maintenance and discharge programs
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care conferences, and in-service training
Recommend and assist in ordering adaptive equipment for resident safety and independence
Maintain thorough, accurate documentation in accordance with OT Board and payer standards
Support discharge planning and follow-up coordination
