About The Position

Adena Health is seeking a casual Occupational Therapist to support patient care at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, with a primary focus on weekend coverage in the acute hospital setting. The role is designed for an Occupational Therapist seeking flexible scheduling while helping provide consistent therapy coverage for hospitalized patients. The primary need is full-day coverage on Saturdays, with Sunday coverage depending on patient volume and department needs. Optional weekday coverage may also be available in acute care and outpatient therapy. Outpatient adult and/or pediatric experience is a plus but is not required.

Requirements

Current Ohio Occupational Therapist license or eligibility for Ohio licensure.
Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
Flexibility to support changing department and patient care needs.

Nice To Haves

Acute care experience.
Experience in outpatient adult and/or pediatric therapy.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat patients in the acute care hospital setting.
Promote functional independence and support discharge planning.
Assess activities of daily living, functional cognition, safety awareness, mobility-related function, and discharge needs.
Provide weekend therapy coverage, primarily on Saturdays and on Sundays when patient volume requires.
Collaborate with nursing, care management, providers, and other therapy disciplines.
Support patient-centered discharge recommendations and safe transitions to the next level of care.
Document care in accordance with department, regulatory, and billing standards.
Provide weekday support in acute care or outpatient therapy as needed and appropriate.
Potentially cover outpatient adult and/or pediatric therapy needs based on demonstrated competence.
