About The Position

SSH-Plano is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Occupational Therapist provides compassionate treatment and contributes to patients’ care throughout their recovery.

The position is per diem (PRN) at the Plano location and pays $60 per hour. The hospital provides an extensive orientation program. The role may offer the possibility of future full-time opportunities based on demonstrated skills and dedication. Part-time and per-diem employees are eligible for a 401(k) after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Certified BLS, or completion within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants (OTAs), as well as OT and COTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and in-services.
