About The Position

TRU Healthcare is seeking a per-diem Occupational Therapist to provide home health services to patients in the Twin Cities Metro Area. The role helps patients regain skills, confidence, and independence so they can safely manage everyday life at home. The position offers a flexible schedule and per-visit compensation of $85 per routine visit; the therapist chooses how much to work based on availability and patient needs. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Requirements

Current, valid Minnesota Occupational Therapist license.
CPR/BLS certification.
Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary care team.
Ability to travel within the Twin Cities Metro Area.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between patient visits.
Genuine desire to help patients live more safely and independently.

Previous home health experience.

Responsibilities

Provide skilled occupational therapy services in patients’ homes based on individualized treatment plans.
Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and develop treatment strategies to improve independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
Address functional limitations related to strength, coordination, balance, cognition, mobility, and other areas affecting daily life.
Recommend and educate patients on adaptive equipment, compensatory strategies, and techniques to improve safety and independence.
Assess home environments and recommend fall-prevention, accessibility, and safe daily-activity strategies.
Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and techniques to support progress between visits.
Monitor patient progress, update treatment approaches as needed, and communicate changes with the interdisciplinary care team.
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Travel between patient visits within the Twin Cities Metro Area.
