About The Position

TRU Healthcare is seeking a per-diem Occupational Therapist to provide home health services to patients in their homes. The role focuses on helping patients regain skills, confidence, and independence so they can safely manage everyday life. The position offers flexible scheduling and per-visit compensation of $85 per routine visit. The therapist may choose how much to work based on their availability and patient needs, and will travel between patient visits within the Twin Cities Metro Area. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Requirements

Current, valid Minnesota Occupational Therapist license.
CPR/BLS certification.
Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team.
Ability to travel within the Twin Cities Metro Area.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between patient visits.
Genuine desire to help patients live more safely and independently.

Nice To Haves

Previous home health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide skilled occupational therapy services in patients’ homes according to individualized treatment plans.
Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and develop treatment strategies to improve independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
Address functional limitations involving strength, coordination, balance, cognition, mobility, and other areas affecting daily life.
Recommend and educate patients on adaptive equipment, compensatory strategies, and techniques that improve safety and independence.
Assess home environments and recommend measures for fall prevention, accessibility, and safe performance of daily activities.
Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and techniques to support progress between visits.
Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment approaches as needed, and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team.
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
