The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients who have difficulty performing daily tasks due to physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial conditions. This pediatric role provides coordinated, comprehensive care through assessment, expected outcomes, rehabilitation interventions, and evaluation within an interdisciplinary team. The therapist evaluates patient needs and develops and implements treatment programs to identify, prevent, and minimize physical disabilities and/or pain. Prior pediatric occupational therapy experience is preferred because the role serves a specialized patient population and requires proficiency in age-specific evaluation, treatment, and family-centered care practices. The position includes documenting treatments, submitting accurate service charges through the patient’s EMR billing system, and overseeing COTAs, students, and volunteers. The therapist also participates in education and training for staff, students, patients, and family members. Where specialty accreditation requirements apply, the employee completes annual required education. The organization’s Occupational Therapist Clinical Ladder offers advancement levels based on experience, degree, and certification requirements, as well as clinical proficiencies.
