About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Memphis is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Occupational Therapist plays a central role in providing compassionate treatment to patients throughout this process. This PRN/per-diem, as-needed position is located inside Methodist University in Memphis, Tennessee, and is scheduled on weekdays only. Compensation is $55.00 per hour.

The role includes an extensive orientation program to support a smooth transition into the setting. Demonstrated skills and dedication may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time/per-diem employees may be eligible for the 401(k) after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants (OTAs) and occupational therapy (OT) and certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and in-services.
