About The Position

Village Point, a Springpoint Senior Living Community in Monroe, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced per-diem Occupational Therapist. The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs to facilitate the development and rehabilitation of people with mental, physical, or emotional disabilities. The role evaluates patients’ abilities and progress, maintains records, and selects therapeutic activities that support work, school, and life-management skills within each patient’s capabilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited therapy program.
• Current New Jersey Occupational Therapist state license.
• Experience as an Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Complete and maintain patient records.
• Test and evaluate patients’ physical and mental abilities and analyze medical data to determine realistic rehabilitation goals.
• Evaluate patients’ progress and prepare reports detailing that progress.
• Plan, organize, and conduct occupational therapy programs.
• Select activities to help individuals learn work and life-management skills within the limits of their mental or physical capabilities.
• Recommend changes to patients’ work or living environments consistent with their needs and capabilities.
• Lay out therapy materials such as puzzles, scissors, and eating utensils.
• Plan and implement programs and social activities to help patients learn work or school skills and adjust to handicaps.
• Conduct training programs in occupational therapy techniques and objectives.
