Occupational therapy uses exercises and intervention treatments to ease recovery and improve independent daily living when disease, injuries or surgeries cause limitations. If applicable, occupational therapy treatments can overlap and work alongside hand therapy and joint replacement rehabilitation programs. The occupational therapist delivers occupational therapy services through the evaluation of patient needs, goal determination and development of treatment plans according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy.
