About The Position

Discovery at Home is seeking an Occupational Therapist in Sarasota County, FL, to serve the Discovery Commons - South Biscayne and Aston Garden Pelican Point campuses. This role primarily involves working within assisted and independent living communities, with potential for some home visits within the community. The patient population is predominantly geriatric, with cases often covered under Medicare Part A Home Health and some under Part B. Full-time employment is preferred, offering 40 hours per week, but part-time and PRN candidates will also be considered. New graduate OTs will receive support and mentorship.

Requirements

• Graduation from an Occupational Therapy program.
• State license as an Occupational Therapist (eligible for FL state licensure).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable transportation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Eligible for FL state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must have a current CPR certification.
• Completion of a Level 2 background screening in accordance with Florida AHCA requirements (fingerprinting and background screening through the AHCA Clearinghouse).

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in home health is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve the Discovery Commons - South Biscayne and Aston Garden Pelican Point campuses.
• Primarily work within assisted and independent living communities.
• Conduct some home visits within the community.
• Manage patient cases primarily under Medicare Part A Home Health, along with some Part B.
• Determine own caseload and work schedule.
• Hone skills with a supportive team.
