About The Position

NovaCare Rehabilitation in Bowie, MD, is seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dynamic outpatient team. This is a great opportunity for a therapist who enjoys working with upper extremity (UE) cases and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care. We are ideally looking for a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) or an OT with at least 2 years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation. The center is open as early as 7 AM and closes at 7 PM Monday through Thursday, and until 2 PM on Friday. Part-time, steady hours are possible.

Requirements

Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) -accredited school of occupational therapy
CPR certification
Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)
At least 2 years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation
At least two years of experience in the application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedic
Minimum two years in adult rehabilitation; hand and splinting experience preferred

Responsibilities

Supervise assistants and aides and contribute to case management.
Stay current and up to date with occupational therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment, from evaluating and creating a plan of care to treatment and discharge.
Maintain positive level of interaction with centers and patients.
Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
