About The Position
NOVACARE in Havre de Grace, Maryland, is seeking local Hand Therapists (Occupational Therapists) for our outpatient orthopedic center! Although a certified hand therapist (CHT) is preferred, we are willing to consider occupational therapists with at least 2 years of hand therapy experience, including splinting and splint fabrication. Additional hand therapists on staff. The center is open as early as 7 AM and closes at 7 PM, Monday through Friday. Steady hours may be possible as referrals grow.
Requirements
- Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) -accredited school of occupational therapy
- CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Certified hand therapist (CHT) is preferred
- At least two years of experience in the application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedic
- Minimum two years in adult rehabilitation; hand and splinting experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Supervise assistants and aides and contribute to case management.
- Stay current and up to date with occupational therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
- Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment, from evaluating and creating a plan of care to treatment and discharge.
- Maintain positive level of interaction with centers and patients. Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
