Occupational Therapist - OT - Certified Hand Therapist
About The Position
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation Austin, TX (Pflugerville) is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) who is a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to join their outpatient team. The role involves treating conservative and post-operative conditions in a dynamic clinic setting. The therapist will be responsible for evaluating patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and ensuring effective return to community activities. This position also involves educating patients, families, students, and colleagues, and performing other professional duties related to patient care and therapy services.
Requirements
- Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as an Occupational Therapist required
- Certified Hand Therapist certification required
- Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required
- Experience in hand/splinting required if not a CHT
Responsibilities
- Treats conservative and post-operative conditions in a dynamic clinic setting.
- Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction.
- Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline specific therapy services for those assigned patients.
- Ensures design of functional treatment programs allowing for effective return to community activities.
- Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, coworkers and self.
- Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
