About The Position

Select Physical Therapy is seeking a part-time Certified Hand Therapist - Occupational Therapist for our outpatient orthopedic center in Vienna, VA. Although a certified hand therapist (CHT) is preferred, we are willing to consider occupational therapists with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with hands. This role involves providing comprehensive and individualized treatment, from evaluation and creating a plan of care to treatment and discharge. The position requires collaboration with assistants and aides, maintaining a high standard of care through current research and evidence-based practice, and building positive relationships with patients and facilities.

Requirements

Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) -accredited school of occupational therapy
Two (2) years of experience in hand therapy
CPR certification
Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with hands.
At least two years of experience in the application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedic.
Minimum two years in adult rehabilitation; hand and splinting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise assistants and aides and contribute to case management.
Stay current and up to date with occupational therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment, from evaluating and creating a plan of care to treatment and discharge.
Maintain positive level of interaction with centers and patients.
Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
