Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
About The Position
The Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides high-quality hand therapy services to patients and customers, including evaluation, treatment planning, treatment, re-evaluation, discharge, and appropriate communications. The role also involves supervising assistants and aides, contributing to case management, and providing quality patient care. The assistant maintains positive interactions with facilities and clients and works to enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff. The position is per diem at 4855 Blue Diamond Road in Las Vegas, Nevada, with compensation of $40 per hour.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy Assisting.
- Within the last two years, completed a Level II clinical rotation or fieldwork in hand therapy specific to the application of custom splinting pre- and post-operative orthopedics.
- National registration and state licensure or registration.
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Valid state driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and develop plans of care for hand therapy services.
- Provide treatment, re-evaluate patients, determine discharge, and communicate appropriately with patients and customers.
- Supervise assistants and aides.
- Contribute to case management and provide quality patient care.
- Maintain positive interactions with facilities and clients.
- Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
