About The Position

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide inpatient rehabilitation care. The 60-bed hospital serves patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. The role is full-time, on a weekday day schedule, in a fast-paced team environment with opportunities to learn and grow.

Requirements

• Be licensed and eligible to practice as a COTA in the state where services are rendered.
• CPR certification is required.
• Be passionate about helping others and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in follow-through programs and home exercises.
• Assist with patient scheduling and record post-treatment charges daily.
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable laws, and professional standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
