About The Position
FOX Rehabilitation is seeking licensed Occupational Therapy Assistants to provide hands-on, individualized care to older adults in their homes and senior living communities in and around Aberdeen, Maryland. Using FOX’s Geriatric House Calls™ model, the OTA works closely with a supervising Occupational Therapist to deliver established treatment plans, guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities, and support strength, mobility, confidence, and independence. The role offers one-on-one patient care within an interdisciplinary team that includes PTs, OTs, SLPs, and Fitness Specialists. OTAs receive mentorship from a supervising OT and opportunities to develop clinical skills, caseload, and career. FOX offers full-time, part-time, and PRN/FOX Flex pathways; benefits are available for eligible roles. The standard Maryland base pay range is $21.63–$31.25 per hour, with opportunities to earn more.
Requirements
- Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state(s) of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of in-home and community-based care, including lifting, performing CPR, assisting with patient transfers and bed mobility, and extensive walking and other listed movements.
- Ability to drive to patient homes and senior living communities and wear PPE when required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist, adjusting activities based on patient response and progress.
- Instruct, motivate, and safeguard patients during therapeutic exercises and functional activities, observing and tracking their progress.
- Document visits accurately and on time in FOX’s EMR system in accordance with clinical documentation standards.
- Stay connected with patients, POAs, and community referral sources, and help coordinate coverage when needed.
- Provide in-home and community-based care, including driving to patient homes and senior living communities.
