About The Position

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Division of Juvenile Justice Director’s Office is recruiting for an Occupational Therapist 1 located in Anchorage. Through Restorative Justice, we hold juvenile offenders accountable for their behavior; promote the safety and restoration of victims and communities; and assist offenders and their families in developing the skills to prevent crime. Requirements

  • Licensure by the State of Alaska to practice as an Occupational Therapist is required per AS 08.84.090.
  • Incumbents work with physically and/or mentally impaired or debilitated individuals.
  • Most positions require the physical ability to assist the clients with gross motor skill and fine motor skill activities.
  • A background investigation including fingerprinting is required for some positions in this job class.
  • State of Alaska professional license to practice as an Occupational Therapist

  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting are required for all candidates who are offered employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual and group occupational rehabilitative therapy programs through directed activities to residents experiencing physical or mental disabilities or disorders.
  • Plans, organizes, supervises, directs, and administers occupational programs and rehabilitation treatments in an effort to promote, maintain, or restore physical and mental health and the functional independence of residents to prepare them for community re-integration.
