About The Position

This position is responsible for performing regulatory testing, injury/illness care, worker’s comp, and wellness education for employees within the nursing scope of practice, adhering to Client Standards, policies, procedures, and treatment care guidelines. The role involves providing medical care, evaluating and managing occupational illnesses and injuries, assisting providers with Workers' Comp claims, and maintaining Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Key responsibilities include performing various regulatory tests, potentially assisting with scheduling and night/weekend shifts during outages, providing preventive health education, maintaining clinic reports, participating in clinic operations, managing supplies, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring return-to-work clearances. Other duties may be assigned as management deems necessary.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
Must hold current BLS certification.
NIOSH, CAOHC DOT Drug, and Alcohol testing Certification in Occupational Health preferred.
Proficient in basic office software applications
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.

Must have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

Provides medical care to clinic patients as requested/needed, and within the RN scope of practice, following treatment care guidelines set forth by the occupational health director.
Evaluation, treatment, and case management of occupational illnesses and injuries and referring cases to providers
Assist providers in managing, coordinating, documentation of Workers Comp claims & communicates with Client’s WC claims carrier as needed.
Maintain Electronic Medical Record (EMR- Cority) and ensures complete & accurate documentation
Performs regulatory testing including but not limited to: Respiratory medical evaluation, spirometry, audiometry, vision tests, urine test, EKG, immunizations, blood draws, stress test, MicroFit, heat stress
May perform First Aid, CPR, AED, and other training as necessary
Assist with Outage scheduling
May be assigned to the night shift or weekend work during the outage
Provides preventive health education to employees as needed within scope of practice.
Maintains clinic utilization reports - clinic encounters, first aid injuries, Workers' Compensation claims, supply inventory, equipment calibration & inventory
Participates in general flow of clinic operations (answers phones, checks email, medical records, scheduling, filing, copying charts, traffic control).
Maintain clinic’s medical & office supplies in collaboration with ancillary staff
Maintains communication with the Clinic Medical Director, Account manager, Team Lead & client as necessary
Ensures that employees have appropriate return-to-work clearances.
Coordinates employee exams &medical surveillance
Other duties as assigned or those duties that may be required as management deems necessary.
