About The Position

The OCC Duty Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of the daily flight schedule, ensuring customer expectations and commitments are met. Reporting to: Chief Duty Manager. Non-Bargaining.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent related work experience
  • Two (2) years of previous experience
  • A customer focused mind-set
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all company aircraft operating practices and limitations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all operations
  • Solid problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Must possess strong negotiation skills
  • Must possess clear communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must possess a high level of energy with superior organizational & interpersonal skills
  • Must be capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Must have proven customer service skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Must be available to work shift work including overnights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada

Nice To Haves

  • Previous administrative experience or related considered an asset
  • Bilingualism considered an asset
  • Experience with SABRE and AIMS preferred
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset

Responsibilities

  • Decision making, contingency planning, as well as developing, coordinating and communicating recovery plans in the event of irregular operations;
  • Tracking and reporting all operational irregularities affecting on time performance and/or those which negatively impact our customers, and/or have a negative financial effect on Company operations;
  • Initiating emergency response procedures, in accordance with the Corporate Emergency Response Plan;
  • Determining, communicating, and implementing the best Company plan or solution in keeping with safety objectives, customer service responsibilities, and profitability, while managing short range scope of the company's flight schedule;
  • Assisting Charter Sales, MCC and other operational departments in various tasks;
  • Managing the cancellation or consolidation of any scheduled flights; authorizing delays, and notifying the appropriate departments of any changes to scheduled operations;
  • Providing managers with available options in the event of irregular operations;
  • Monitoring “Key Performance Indicators”;
  • Ensuring that accidents, incidents or hazards are reported appropriately and within a timely manner;
  • Assisting with safety investigations;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director, OCC; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
