Obstetrics Hospitalist (MD/DO) - Casual - UNC Health Rex
About The Position
UNC Rex is seeking an MD/DO to join its expanding obstetrics and gynecology group in Raleigh, North Carolina. The physician will work with a team of 7 OB/GYNs, 7 certified nurse midwives, and 1 women's health nurse practitioner, with shifts staffed by one physician and one CNM. The group provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care and offers colleague and clinical support in a collaborative environment. UNC Rex Hospital has a 21-bed Level 4 NICU by North Carolina standards and a Level 3 NICU by American Academy of Pediatrics standards, serving infants from 27 weeks onward. Neonatologists are onsite during the day and on call at night, with a neonatal nurse practitioner in-house 24/7. The hospital has Da Vinci robotics and uses Epic with AI scribe capabilities. This is a casual, per-diem, onsite role with a variable schedule and 4 standard hours per week.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
- Board certification in OB-GYN.
- North Carolina medical license.
- DEA license.
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English.
- High-level quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills to diagnose medical and clinical issues.
Nice To Haves
- Prior hospitalist experience is preferred.
- BLS/ACLS certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care at UNC Rex in Raleigh.
- Work on shifts alongside a certified nurse midwife to support the service.
- Evaluate and diagnose medical and clinical issues presented by patients.
