About The Position

Vail Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible OB/GYN Nocturnist to join their growing Women's Health team. This role is designed to support a thriving OB/GYN practice, improve physician work-life balance, and provide exceptional care to women and families in the mountain communities. As a Nocturnist, you will focus exclusively on inpatient obstetrical and gynecologic care during overnight hours, working with a collaborative team. The program aims to reduce provider call burden and enhance continuity of care.

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Eligible for Colorado medical licensure
• Demonstrated commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight labor and delivery coverage
• Evaluate and manage obstetric triage patients
• Perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries as clinically indicated
• Manage OB emergencies and urgent gynecologic consultations
• Collaborate closely with daytime OB/GYN physicians to ensure smooth patient handoffs
• Participate in quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives
• Support a patient-centered, team-based care model
