About The Position

We are seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology physician to provide on-call coverage for obstetrical and gynecological emergencies. This is a locum tenens position at an inpatient facility in Banning, CA, covering the period of August 20-31, 2026. The physician will be responsible for managing a low daily patient volume, including admissions, rounding, and phone consults. The role requires the physician to be available for beeper call with a 30-minute response time, in a 1:1 call ratio. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance will be provided.

Requirements

Board Certified (BC)
CA license or IMLC
BLS certification
ACLS certification
PALS certification
Clean NPDB report
No malpractice cases in the last 10 years

Nice To Haves

Experience with high-risk pregnancy.
Experience with Level I/Screening (viability) ultrasounds.
Experience with Level II/Targeted (anatomic) ultrasounds.

Responsibilities

Provide on-call coverage for obstetrical and gynecological emergencies.
Perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries as needed.
Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and manage labor.
Provide surgical gynecological procedures as required.
Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure patient care.
Manage low risk pregnancies.
Interpret FHR monitoring (NST/CST/FSE).
Perform and interpret OB Ultrasounds.
Perform routine deliveries including vaginal, low forceps, and decision-making for c-section.
Handle complicated deliveries such as c-sections, breech, multiple births, and abruptions.
Perform VBACs.
Repair 3rd and 4th degree lacerations.
Perform office/minor gynecology procedures (IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.).
Perform surgical gynecology procedures (Open, Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor only - tubal ligation, LOA's, chronal tubation, Operative/major (includes diagnostic) - ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA's).
