About The Position

The Entry OBS Operator is responsible for setting up the OBS machine and blank parts to print specifications using CNC controls. The role includes recalling programs, installing tooling, adjusting settings as needed, inspecting parts, and following manufacturing and quality procedures. The operator uses JDE and related production information to track and process Kanban cards, maintains drawings and work instructions, follows safety procedures, and keeps the work area clean. The position also requires completing work on time and to quality standards while modeling Henny Penny’s expected team behaviors and core values.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
1–3 years of experience in metal fabrication or CNC machine operation.
Ability to frequently move objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
Ability to understand and follow instructions on process sheets.
Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to understand manufacturing processes such as Kanban, JDE, BOM viewer, and method sheets.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Basic computer skills.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check; motor vehicle screening applies if applicable.

Responsibilities

Set up the OBS machine and blank parts to print specifications using CNC controls.
Recall programs, install the correct tooling, and make adjustments when needed.
Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and protractors.
Identify material types and dispose of scrap according to QA requirements.
Use JDE to track Kanban card status and history, and send, start, and end cards.
Utilize and maintain drawings, Non-Cad Process Sheets, and Operating Instructions.
Consistently follow safety procedures.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Complete required work within expected time requirements while meeting quality standards.
