About The Position

This opportunity is in Northern Arizona where Hope and Navajo Nations meet, offering a chance to work in an underserved region and alleviate healthcare shortages. The role is based at the Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF), a 60-bed hospital serving approximately 37,000 active users. The facility provides a range of services including routine outpatient and inpatient primary care, Adult Intensive Care, General Surgery, routine and operative Obstetrics, and 24-Hour Emergency Room Services. The community offers opportunities to learn about Navajo culture and language, and the surrounding Colorado Plateau provides excellent outdoor recreational activities.

Requirements

  • Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).
  • Must have a DEA License.
  • Must have current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
  • Must hold a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. Territory.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized care in obstetrics and gynecology, including preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services.
  • Perform patient interviews, physical exams, and necessary diagnostic tests to form treatment plans.
  • Manage outpatient clinics, inpatient units (Labor & Delivery and Obstetric Care Unit), and ensure continuity of care.
  • Perform major surgeries, including spontaneous and operative deliveries, and provide postpartum care.
  • Offer emergency care and definitive management of OB/GYN cases.
  • Provide consultation on complex cases and assist other physicians in procedures.
  • Respect and integrate cultural practices into patient care, particularly for the local community served.
