About The Position

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) for a Locum Tenens position in Colorado Springs, CO. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient services, with a primary focus on outpatient care. The coverage period is from May 1st ongoing, with a preferred full-time commitment. The position includes clinical duties and call responsibilities. The practice consists of 5 OBGYNs and 2 mid-levels, with a case mix primarily of low-risk pregnancy (70%), office GYN (10%), surgical GYN (10%), and high-risk pregnancy (10%). The average patient volume in outpatient settings is 20 patients per day. The facility is a Level I Trauma center with 413 beds and 11 exam rooms. Lab and Ultrasound services are available on-site.

Requirements

Active Colorado (CO) License or willingness to obtain one.
Board Certified (BC).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Experience in OB/GYN.
NPDB (National Practitioner Data Bank) report pulled within 30 days.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Manage low-risk and high-risk pregnancies.
Perform routine and complicated deliveries, including C-sections, breech births, and multiple births.
Perform VBACs and repair of 3rd and 4th-degree lacerations.
Interpret Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) tracings (NST/CST/FSE).
Perform Level I/screening ultrasounds for viability.
Manage office GYN and surgical GYN cases.
Participate in call schedule, including day, overnight, and weekend calls.
Collaborate with a support staff of RNs, LPNs, MAs, PAS, and a surgery scheduler.
Work alongside 5 OBGYNs and 2 other mid-levels in the practice.
