OB Tech - Labor and Delivery - Per Diem 12 Hours Nights (6:00 PM to 6:30 AM) (Union, Non-Exempt)
About The Position
Under the direction of the RN, the OB Tech assists with all types of procedures for patients of all ages. The technician stocks and maintains unit supplies and functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team in a scrub/assistant role. The role supports the overall progress of the unit and organization and uses effective verbal and non-verbal interpersonal and communication skills to help achieve customer satisfaction and a positive work environment. The position is accountable to the unit Manager and/or the Director of the department. The technician demonstrates competence in critical behaviors annually, maintains professional commitment, and promotes unity and teamwork through a positive attitude and working relationships. The role requires knowledge of AORN/AW HONN/ACOG recommended standards and participation in the organization-wide Performance Improvement Program, including orientation, education, quality control, performance improvement, and quality planning activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification.
- Successfully complete and maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 4 months of hire.
- Knowledge of AORN/AW HONN/ACOG recommended standards.
Nice To Haves
- Surgical Technician program or certification preferred.
