About The Position

Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns is Southern California’s only standalone women’s hospital and is part of Sharp HealthCare. This 206-bed, not-for-profit hospital delivers more babies than any other hospital in California, with approximately 9,000 deliveries annually. The Per Diem OB Hospitalist will be responsible for Labor & Delivery, triage, postpartum care, ED calls, and occasional GYN emergency surgery. Most calls are taken with experienced Certified Nurse Midwives, with back-up physicians always available. The role offers a competitive shift rate with paid malpractice and tail coverage. The hospital boasts full specialty back-up, including 24-hour perinatal and GYN/ONC services with dedicated OB anesthesia. Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in OB hospitalist role
• Must be able to receive privileges for basic laparoscopy including management of ectopic pregnancies (must have completed 10 cases within the last 2 years to qualify)
• Must be Board Certified

Nice To Haves

• 5 years of experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Responsible for L&D, triage, postpartum, ED Calls and occasional GYN emergency surgery (ectopic)
• Covering a busy L&D
• Management of ectopic pregnancies
• Taking calls with experienced CNM's
• Providing back-up physician support
