About The Position
Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns is Southern California’s only standalone women’s hospital. SMB is part of Sharp HealthCare, is a 206 bed, not for profit hospital delivering more babies than any other hospital in California. The hospital delivers ~9,000 babies per year, highest volume in the state of California! The group delivers ~4,000 babies per year. It has Southern California’s largest Level III NICU, plus advanced care for high-risk pregnancy. The OB Hospitalist is responsible for L&D, triage, postpartum, ED Calls and occasional GYN emergency surgery (ectopic). Most calls are taken with experienced CNMs, with back-up physicians always available. There is an on-site overnight provider room.
Requirements
- Comfortable covering a busy L&D with at least 3 years’ experience, 5 preferred
- Must be able to receive privileges for basic laparoscopy including management of ectopic pregnancies (must have completed 10 cases within the last 2 years to qualify)
- Must be Board Certified to be considered
