About The Position

Join a growing team of advanced practice providers supporting 12 OB/GYNs and 11 certified nurse-midwives. This inpatient OB/GYN role includes postpartum rounds, discharges, and surgical care. The day-shift position includes family birth center rounds, first-assisting in gynecology cases—including laparoscopic and robotic surgeries—and assisting with C-sections. The role is open to physician assistants and nurse practitioners; nurse practitioners must have RNFA certification. The schedule is full-time days with flexibility, and there is no call. This is a salaried position; compensation is displayed as an hourly rate for consistency across postings. Under established guidelines and in collaboration with or under the supervision of practice physicians, advanced practitioners perform routine physical examinations and develop medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans. In consultation with physicians and other care-team members, they plan further evaluation of health needs, including referrals to other care-team members or specialists. They provide treatment for problems within their scope of practice under applicable protocols and refer problems outside that scope to a physician. Hartford HealthCare offers advanced-practice support through its Office of Advanced Practice, clinical and informatics technology including EPIC, mentorship and orientation programs, and professional development and continuing education resources.
