About The Position

At Delaware Valley Job Corps, you’re helping young adults (ages 16–24) discover opportunities, enroll in life-changing career training, and begin building brighter futures. Delaware Valley Job Corps is an education and training program dedicated to helping young adults gain the education, career technical training, and employability skills they need to succeed. As part of our Outreach & Admissions/Career Transition Services team in Yonkers, NY, you'll serve as the first connection between prospective students and a future full of opportunity.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Social Science, Communications, or a closely related field required.
• Two years of related experience required
• Strong interviewing, counseling, and communication skills
• Comfortable building partnerships with schools and community organizations
• Strong organizational and Microsoft Office skills
• Valid New York State driver's license is required and must have the ability to meet company insurability requirements

Nice To Haves

• experience in Job Corps or other youth development programs is a plus

Responsibilities

• Conduct applicant interviews and determine Job Corps eligibility
• Review behavioral, medical, and educational records
• Provide career counseling throughout the admissions process
• Build relationships with schools, community agencies, and workforce partners
• Conduct presentations, center tours, pre-arrival visits, and parent meetings
• Guide applicants through enrollment while promoting early student success
• Maintain accurate documentation and student records
• Serve as a liaison between applicants, community partners, and the Center
• May supervise Work-Based Learning (WBL) students
