Responsible for the nutrition assessment component of the program as well as other administrative duties as assigned by a supervisor. This is a full-time hybrid position where employees may be eligible to work remotely 1–2 days per week upon successfully completing the probationary period. Applicants must currently reside in New York State. The role assists the Program Director in the overall operation of the WIC program and satellite sites. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing individual care plans (ICPs), overseeing high-risk care, and coordinating nutrition education, including breastfeeding promotion and support. The position also involves referring high-risk participants to other health-related and social services, tracking their progress, and conducting program orientations. This includes explaining program benefits, issuing eWIC cards, setting up WIC2GO, providing vendor lists, and enrolling clients into WIC health. The role also involves collecting information for the certification process, verifying identity, income, and residency, and ensuring the efficient flow of assessment and education processes. Additionally, the position provides leadership in planning, conducting, and evaluating participant-centered nutrition services, as well as orienting, training, and mentoring new local agency (LA) staff. It also involves developing and evaluating nutrition training for LA staff on nutrition education topics.
