About The Position

Finger Lakes Health is seeking motivated career starters to join its team as a Nutritional Services Aide. Full-time, part-time, and per diem schedules are available, with day and evening shifts and varied per diem shifts.

The aide prepares menu items in appropriate quantities by following production and supply sheets, meets production schedules, and helps maintain quality while preventing food waste. The role also involves portion control, appealing tray presentation, accurately following diet orders and tray notes, safe food handling, completing assigned documentation, and keeping the assigned area clean and sanitary.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old to apply.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to follow directions.

Nice To Haves

• Previous kitchen experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Follow production and supply sheets to prepare appropriate quantities of menu items for meals.
• Meet production schedules, maintain high-quality products, and prevent food wastage.
• Follow portion-control guidelines to ensure quality service.
• Provide neat, clean, and appealing tray presentations.
• Accurately follow diet orders and tray notes on tray tickets.
• Use safe and sanitary food-handling and serving methods to prevent foodborne illnesses, including compliance with H.A.C.C.P. standards.
• Review and complete assigned tasks and documentation, including worksheets and logs such as the dish machine, sanitizer, and special cleaning logs.
• Maintain the assigned area in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
