In this position, you will lead the management of customer-facing programs supported by the Publix Nutritional Maintenance System (PNMS)—including Shelf Tag programs, Shopping Lists, and promotional materials that guide customer communication both in-store and online. You will play a critical role in developing and implementing the processes and procedures that ensure the accuracy of this information while upholding all regulatory and compliance requirements. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in dietetics or nutrition, or a related degree from an ACEND (Accredited Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) accredited program (A DTR (Dietetic Technician Registered) title is only acceptable when it is in addition to the above degree requirement.)
  • minimum of one year experience working in the field of nutrition in the clinical, community, food and nutrition management or related experience in the field
  • computer skills – proficient in Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • expert knowledge of nutrition and dietary guidelines, information and attributes
  • knowledge of various food-related dietary trends such as trans fats and whole grain usage
  • knowledge of public health and disease state trends such as diabetes or heart conditions
  • knowledge of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) My Plate recommendations
  • knowledge of Food & Drug Administration (FDA) labeling regulations regarding the nutritional content of consumer-packaged goods

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian
  • 3 years’ experience working in the field of nutrition in the clinical, community, food and nutrition management or other experience in the field
  • RD, LD certification
  • knowledge of the various PNMS reports and data entry screens
  • knowledge of company structure

Responsibilities

  • develop, implement, and manage the process for auditing nutrition information for existing items in PNMS
  • develop, implement, and manage the process to provide nutritional information for the Publix Product Catalog
  • develop, implement, and manage the process for capturing nutritional information from new items for the PNMS database
  • researching regulatory rules and labeling laws to maintain compliance and integrity of the customer-facing programs
  • ongoing evaluation and updating of nutrition filter criteria that supports customer-facing programs
  • updating nutrition shopping/product lists on p.com and Publix Connection, such as: Gluten Free, Low Sodium, and other lists that will be created
  • scheduling, providing and facilitating training to Category Teams for guidelines related to the nutritional information in PNMS
