Requirements

  • Associate Degree
  • Certification as a Food Service Manager in applicable states within two (2) months of employment / promotion
  • Computer applications including Microsoft Office applications and Outlook
  • Point of Sale cash register system
  • Three years of experience in food service in positions of progressive responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Hands on supervision of day to day operations in area of expertise and provide cross coverage for other areas when needed.
  • Delegate and check daily assignments.
  • Prioritize and assign tasks and projects within the department.
  • Schedule appropriate coverage when necessary.
  • Under the direction of the manager, provide input on how to perform tasks and how to achieve goals.
  • Supervise, hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, and address concerns or complaints for a group of employees.
  • Evaluate job performance and review performance appraisals with associates.
  • Create and supervise work schedules, vacation schedules, time off, overtime, training, qualifications, and meetings.
  • Assist with resourceful use of labor, supplies, and equipment to meet organizational and departmental financial goals.
  • Compliance with all local, state, federal, and medical center regulatory, safety, sanitation, and security standards.
  • Support performance improvement (PI) studies, assist with data collection, and implement action plans.
  • Monitor & maintain effective cash handling & accounting practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
