In this role, you will perform a variety of duties related to the set-up, delivery and food service, including assisting with daily dietary requests and needs of our patients, visitors and caregivers. Requirements

  • Good reading and writing skills
  • Ability to add, subtract and handle other arithmetic functions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to organize work tasks and function without close supervision
  • Ability to make accurate measurements for preparation and portioning formula and food items

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in nutrition in a healthcare setting
  • Sufficient previous experience in large scale food preparation
  • Knowledge of cooking methods/procedures, including types of preparation and related routines
  • Training in institutional food preparation
  • Prior restaurant experience in kitchen

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, set up and replenish steam table, salad bar, cooler, baker’s racks, coffee area, condiments and silverware throughout the meal period.
  • Make pizzas to order and maintain all ingredients.
  • Set up and support catering events.
  • Maintain the register and proper cash handling with overages/shortages of less than 1.5% of total drawer.
  • Ensure proper food temperature using calibrated thermometers.
  • Rotate, prepare and label all leftover food.
  • Set up, serve and collect dinner patient trays.
  • Perform other Nutrition Services Assistant Clinical duties as needed.
  • Complete cleaning assignments.
